WeaveGrid intentionally schedules your EV charging within off-peak windows that align with the savings opportunities available under your rider. However, WeaveGrid only has visibility into your EV charging energy, not your total household energy consumption. Because rider cost calculations under ChargeSmart and Power Smart Pricing are based on your whole-home energy usage and are calculated by Ameren Illinois, the estimated costs shown on your driver dashboard will not reflect your full rider rate.
Here's what that means for you:
- ChargeSmart (Rider EVCP) customers: FlexCharge automatically schedules your EV charging within the Preferred Charging Period (PCP) window (11 PM to 7 AM), so you don't have to think about it. With your EV charging taken care of, you can focus your energy-saving efforts on the rest of your home by running dishwashers, washers, and dryers during off-peak hours using appliance delay features, a home energy management system, or by managing them yourself. FlexCharge and ChargeSmart are designed to work together, and combining both programs gives you the best opportunity to maximize your savings.
- Power Smart Pricing (Rider PSP) customers: FlexCharge schedules your charging during the overnight off-peak window, which typically aligns with the lowest-cost hours under Power Smart Pricing. However, because hourly prices fluctuate daily and costs are calculated based on your whole-home energy usage, your actual savings will vary.
